long weekend break

January 25, 2009

its been a long and hectic week filled with energy-draining activities. BCCT, HG Throw, AGR and IPPT…plus e weather has been so good that it hasnt rained for nearly 2weeks already…which means the average temperature during my trainings are like 32-34 degree celsius!

equation is rather simple…
tough training + hot, dry weather = 0% energy left at e end of e day

there are even times where u dun really get enough time 2 sleep also…so there are times where u will hav to use ur reserve battery.

lucky theres chinese new year =) which means…a long weekend break =) i know some ppl got 5days but as 4 me…i guess 4days isnt too bad. next book in got another hectic week coming up =( HG Live Throw and SIT Test. its gonna be another i-wonder-how-much-energy-i-hav-left week!

anyway!
Heres wishing everyone a HAPPY CHINESE NIU(NEW) YEAR! [in advance…LOL!] wish all e gentlemen happy life ahead in NS and all e ladies happy life ahead in University and/or Society!

BMT update

January 18, 2009

after 1month and 2weeks…i hav officially attended BMT =) which means i hav completed my live shoot and a 5days 4nights field camp! looks like the last hurdle to cross is IPPT…then i would then be considered as officially completed BMT.

well…juz gonna update abt wad i hav been up to in BMTC:
juz completed my field camp yesterday and everything ended on a high note which was a good thing. ever since i joined NPCC as a cadet in sec1…field camp has always been something i really look forward to cuz its e only event where i can really see who i am and what are my limits. army field camp is no difference…it really places u in an environment where comfort is invisible. luckily for me…it only poured on the 1st day which is quite rare according to my sergeants. field camp is also one event where i go through thick and thin with my platoon mates…a place where we kena tekan together…sleep on rocks and sand together…eat combat rations as if they were MacDonalds and KFC together…learn what TEAMWORK really is. anyway…field camp ended with a bang literally as the whole platoon were made to go through a course full of obstacles and with live GPMG rounds firing over our heads…all i can say is that its really unforgettable!

well…personally i enjoyed this field camp tremendously as i could see myself putting all my heart and soul into the training as i set my sights on becoming the Company Best Trainee. this field camp has also awakened my passion for wanting to serve in an uniformed organisation…the growth of each trainee and the hard work of each sergeants/instructors reminded me of why i wanted to become a Cadet Inspector so badly after my secondary NPCC life ended. maybe thats why i want to become a SAF scholar so that one day i hope i can be posted to BMTC as a instructor and continue to nurture and see boys become men.

the next few weeks will be packed with other trainings such as grenade throwing and SIT test for suitability for command school. looks like i gotta keep my physical and mental toughness going! its gonna be a tough 1month for me with a CNY break in between…well hope everything goes well =)

hope to catch up with my friends during e CNY break…really miss talking to all of you.

thank you sean for always being online somehow…haha! well…i guess like u said…its called ‘mo qi’! LOL! ill tell u more abt field camp some other day.

gotta return to camp! see ya ppl!

Phew…relief

January 10, 2009

was supposed to write this on e 6th Jan 2008 but i guess its still not too late =)

I wasnt allowed to book out this day due to my live shoot despite it was my IB results day. Was supposed to reach school by 11am but as I waited for my turn to shoot, it was like 10.15am. Seems like all hope was lost… At 10.20am, my instructor called out my name and I went to collect my ammo. At this point of time, the activity was stopped and my OC suddenly told me to get ready to book out! I was like REALLY?!?! NO JOKE?! I really couldnt believe what I heard and I felt so happy that Im given the opportunity to collect my results together with the rest of the school =)

and so…i got 39 pts =)

English A1 SL 5
Chinese B SL 7
Physics SL 7
Chemistry HL 6
Mathematics HL 6
History HL 6
TOK B
EE in History B

even though my result was considered ok…but i think i did well =) considering that i managed 2 get a 6 for my chemistry! probably the best score i got so far! =) really gotta thank Mr Bill Chia for this score…after all he has really been a great help to me…not giving me up even when i was one of the lowest scoring student in class. THANKS SIR!

seems like most of my friends did better than me but i expected it la…haha. Congrats ppl! guess for the guys…ill be seeing u in tekong camp soon =) as for the girls…good luck for ur universities =) although i havent been able to join u ppl for any celebrations or whatsoever =( and this really saddens me…but i guess i would not be able to forget the days of 5.14 and 6.14! (HEY…i hav a class photo in my army bunk ok! i so sentimental one….) thanks jono for the video! it really brought back many memories!

as for those who want to know abt my shooting results:
Night shoot - 16/16
Day shoot - 14/16
Total score - 30/32 Marksman!

kinda disappointed that i couldnt get full marks =( even my platoon commander was disappointed! but at least i got my marksman…hehe =) haiz…missed out on getting Company Best Shot =( well…still got Company Best Trainee and Company Best IPPT =) haha!

next week will be my 5days 4nights field camp! OH MY! its gonna be crazy! 4 those enlisting recently…i can share my experiences with u next week =) haha! it might juz help u! cant wait to complete this field camp before i go for my SIT test for application to OCS! army days are rather getting exciting these days…haha! most of u probably think im crazy…but i think u might juz end up enjoying these activities when they come to u. ah well…
