Back from Ubin!
back from ubin again! this time i went 2 Area 18 ATC 2 help out =)
it felt great…especially since i was able to work out my TOK essay while enjoying nature and was also able to know more cool ppl =) my job was probably the slackest one there..haha..i was juz there 2 help out the first aid post and be a lifesaver 4 e water activities.
nth much 2 say 4 e 1st day except for 2 events. the 1st event was the entertainment provided by suresh…i hav 2 say this guy is really fitted for Kids Central..entertaining the sec3s with dance, songs, games etc etc. it looked as if everyone, including the CIs, HOs and TOs, had lots of fun and laughter. the 2nd event was during 11pm at the first aid post…1 cadet suddenly had stomach cramp + full body numbness and was crying really badly with breathing difficulty..took us some time 2 calm him down…the 2nd cadet had a sudden asthma attack…so the whole place was quite messy. luckily managed 2 calm things down and provide proper treatment before it was decided that they should be sent home.
2nd day was quite fun =) helped wenbin with e launching of e powerboat and went off 2 "explore" the sea abit..haha! was sitting at e bow of e boat…so the wind was super shiok =) although occasionally had slight scares cuz wenbin was going at a rather high speed..lol! was stationed at water confidence jump station where cadets had 2 jump off a plank into e sea..very pirate-like..lol. initially had no problems..until the current became really strong..and some of e weaker swimmers keep getting dragged away by the current..so bo bian..had 2 go into e water 2 save them and bring them up into e powerboat. after lunch…the current became weaker so everything was going well…until the rain came…it was difficult berthing and keeping e boat due to minimal visibility…and it was VERY COLD..so had 2 use e lifejackets 2 keep myself warm..lol! but after that…it was all no problem! wanted 2 stay 4 campfire…but too bad got training 2 go for =(
